TOP TEN // Practical ways to use Wallpaper!
It's long been established that wallpaper is back, and it's back to stay. While often used in bedrooms + bathrooms, wallpaper is a versatile material with applications that stretch far beyond a single accent wall! This week we've rounded up some fabulous ways to use wallpaper from fellow designers who inspire us + we've focused on highlighting a few unexpected applications you may not have thought of.
// Bathroom Goals //
The full wallpaper surround in stunning gold grasscloth gives this powder room a real boost. It's really the perfect place to use wallpaper as it's often a more gently used room in the house + the design choices won't be as limited as there is no bathtub or shower sharing the space.
If you prefer to use a single-wall application instead of the entire room, don't be afraid to go a little bolder in either the pattern or color - or both!
// Nursery Heaven //
Your baby's nursery could just be the perfect place to use a patterned paper. We'd recommend considering a (somewhat) gender-neutral color-way + choosing a paper that could easily transition into a tween-age room down the road.
// Bedroom Dreaming //
When you talk about design talent, the name Lindye Galloway has to come to mind. We love how she used this soft chevron pattern to add interest + texture in a master bedroom. Also noteworthy is the way Lindye mixed taupe + gray colors with ease by balancing the look with crisp white bedding. Gorgeous!
And c'mon guys, wallpaper isn't just for the ladies. This bedroom feels decidedly masculine + still communicates an attention to detail that I guarantee any lady will still appreciate.
// Unexpected Delights //
How about the laundry room? An often forgotten room that many of us actually spend a decent amount of time in....Or maybe would if it were functional and beautiful!
And.... a 'mudroom' doesn't have to be strictly utilitarian. In fact, choosing the right wallpaper can even help protect your walls from dings + scuffs and can be an easy surface to wipe clean. Try looking at a vinyl or commercial-grade paper for extra durability. If you're not sure where to start, reach out to us + we'll help you get started!
This one I really love! Many floorplans have a stairway right when you walk in the front door + it's an awkward wall for art, but the perfect place for a graphic wallpaper that's neutral enough to blend in with adjacent rooms. Well done!
We're over 'top ten' I know, but a shelf backing is one more unexpected way to incorporate pattern + color by using wallpaper. Here the designers used open shelving, wallpapering the entire wall (but...the same concept also works in an enclosed cabinet or bookshelf that has glass doors...).
